Working With turnitin.com Matt Spence

If you Don't have an account, start here

First

Go to turnitin.com and click or tap on Create Account in the top-right-hand corner of the screen.

Second

On the next screen, you will see Create a User Profile. Tap Student.

Third

On the next screen, you will need to add information to several text fields:

  • Class ID: This will be provided by your teacher.
  • Class enrollment key: This will be provided by your teacher.
  • Your first name: You should know this one!
  • Your last name: You should know this one, too. If not, you're in for a long year, my friend.
  • Display names as: The first option should already be selected. Just leave it as it is.
  • Email address: Use your SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESS.
  • Enter your password: Use your SCHOOL ACCOUNT PASSWORD. In other words, use the same password you use to log in to any of your school accounts, like Charger Commons or Google Drive.
  • Secret Question: Choose whichever question you like, but make sure that it is one that you will always know the answer to.
  • User Agreement: Read this if you really want to, but because the school requires you to use Turnitin.com, you have to agree to these terms.
  • I'm not a robot: Tap the white square to confirm that you are not part of the robot uprising.
  • I Agree -- Create Profile: Tap this.

IF you already have a turnitin.com account

First

If you already have an account, tap Login on the home page.

Second

On the next page, tap Enroll in a class.

Third

On the next screen, you will see Enroll in a class with two text fields: Class/section ID and Enrollment key. This information will be provided by your teacher.

Submitting a Paper

Once you have logged into turnitin.com and enrolled in a class, you should see a screen like the one below that shows the assignments that your teacher has created.
