ITA National Player of the Year
Ben Shelton from the University of Florida has been named the 2022 ITA National Player of the Year.
Coming off of a strong fall season in which he was crowned the 2021 ITA All-American Champion, Shelton only got better into the spring season putting together a dominant season from the Gators No. 1 position.
An ITA Singles All-American, Shelton was named the SEC Player of the Year in 2022 and earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Singles Championship.
As he had done all season, Shelton was once again dominant in the NCAA Singles Championship and took down August Holmgren in the Finals to claim the National Championship.
Shelton joins Jeff Morrison (2000) as just the second player in program history to finish the season as the No. 1 ranked player in the nation.
