Tidal Change, Alaska
ROLE: Creative Consultant / Producer > Editor
THE PROJECT
Unify and structure previously collected interviews and photos to share the message of climate impact on fisheries and the nation’s food supply.
THE CHALLENGES
Small budget. Unsorted material of varying quality. Separate audio and visual imagery. Lack of a unifying message.
THE SOLUTION
Selected material that reflected and personalized the program mission. Matched audio and visuals to convey specific messaging. Converted photos to black and white for greater impact. Produced branded trailers with combined photos, audio, and motion graphics. Developed a workflow for identifying and using content.
THE IMPACT
Client had easy-to-post material on multiple platforms. Increased engagement on social media. A more powerful message featuring heartfelt testimonials. Cost and time savings with a system to drive future use of materials.
Portraits
Radio Series
Everyone who sat for an audio interview had their portrait taken. Having done numerous portrait series myself, I chose to present this series in B/W. We then animated the photos for each person along with an audio selection from their interview using custom closed captioning text.
Social Cards
After culling through the photographs we found a couple strong images that would be great to have a pull quote from the audio interviews. We included the icon for the project in the lower corner of the images for branding purpose.
Video Clips
We used motion graphic to help illustrate the audio clips being spoken.
