In her new exhibit, A Sari Draped World, Buxani conjures memories of Indian celebrations and the intricate clothing and jewelry associated with them. Buxani photographs saris and gemstones and paints their details in order to pay homage to the rich history and tradition of Indian textiles. She invites the viewer to celebrate alongside her through finding joy in aesthetic beauty.

Both the gem and textile paintings take me back to a time in which I might have worn or seen these garments and gems during celebratory occasions, evoking a nostalgic joy that I hope to share with the viewer. These works offer a connection between myself and the culture that remains such a significant part of my identity.
