Steel Sports Spotlights SEPTEMBER 2021

"Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can't." —Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice

DOUBLE GOLD FOR MORGAN!

Team USA Paralympic swimmer and Steel Sports Advisory Board member Morgan Stickney earned two gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games in thrilling fashion. In the 400 meter freestyle, Morgan chased down Team USA teammate and 24-time medalist Jessica Long to win her first gold. Then the pair teamed up with two other gold medalists to capture gold in the 400 meter medley relay. Swimming the freestyle anchor leg, Morgan made up a 10 second deficit with grit and determination to help earn gold for her relay team. Morgan’s journey to Tokyo is a shining example of the courage and commitment she had to have to persevere after becoming a bi-lateral amputee just a few years ago.

Steel United Top 10 Plays

Steel United launched its first Top 10 in September with some incredible shots, saves and representation of the Steel Sports core values. Coach Luis DaSilva's Boston 2011 Boys demonstrated the meaning of integrity when they were given an undeserved penalty. Not wanting to take advantage, the boys passed the ball back to the goalkeeper. Check out all the plays at the video below!
