Curtain Trends Spring/Summer 22 PAGUNETTE

Pagunette Spring 22

The uncertainty of modern life and the turmoil of the last two year’s global pandemic have left us with a deep desire to downscale and simplify our lives. Shows like Marie Kondo and magazines like KINFOLK have taken the world by storm, as we desperately wish to edit our lives and redefine luxury. The concept of slow living is, in its core, about gaining more time and more freedom to do what makes us happy.

The Nordic take on minimalism – new minimalism, strives for authenticity, not perfection. A child made clay sculpture has as much right of way, as a designer piece, and the soft linen curtains do not need to hang in perfect folds. It combines the essentials of minimalism; the muted colour palette and an emphasis on simple, quality furniture - with Nordic staples like pine, birch, oak, larch, and natural textiles like linen.

To achieve the simplicity, serenity, and beauty we crave, we have focused on the design and quality of our fabrics, ensuring that the timeless designs are as long lasting as the textiles they adorn.

Sandy Rocks

On the rocky shores of Scandinavia, you will find the colours of the 2022 trend Sandy rocks, generously strewn about in the landscape. The everchanging varieties of grey, blend effortlessly into the pale beige sand, as the stony beaches are pummeled by the rough waves, in an endless loop almost as old as time itself.

The designs of this collection are as timeless as weathered wood, and the patterns and prints are soft and delicate, to underline and not overshadow the simplicity of the textiles. Use this colour palette to complement the classic wooden design furniture of yore, and instill peace and serenity on your mind, and balance your interior décor for the upcoming year.

Blue Shades

There is nothing blue about our blue colour trend this year; On the contrary, the colour emulates the beautiful blue summer skies, the sound of a babbling brook and the thrill of spotting a Eurasian blue tit in the forest. Blue calms us. It makes us feel safe and is often described and serene and tranquil.

Because of their calming effect, the fabrics of this collection are especially well-suited to decorate bedrooms and nurseries. It also contains a wide range of fabrics with naval prints, that would go perfect with the untreated pinewood of the traditional red Swedish croft houses, Norwegian mountain cabins and Danish summer houses.

Moss Garden

Deep in the woods exist another world entirely. Simultaneously otherworldly and strangely familiar, the earthy green and spongy ground cover creeps up the trunks and becomes ever flimsier the farther out the branches it reaches. The uniformity of the landscape exists only on the surface, and as you zoom in, the microcosm of the forest reveals itself.

Green is commonly known as the most enticing colour to humans, and it serves to cheer us up, and leaves us with a satisfactory feeling of pure wellness. This collection includes a wide variety of subtle prints and patterns, in many a shade of green. It encompasses numerous textile types, including velvet, which works particularly well with the rich and dark moss green.

Golden days

Ocher is the oldest known natural colour pigment and may have been used as early as 300,000 years ago. To us, yellow ocher represents the sun, the resurgence of the light, and the coming of summer. Perhaps this is what makes yellow the colour of happiness; simply put, it assured our ancestors, that easier times lay ahead.

This collection displays deep earthy yellow nuances, that work especially well with the blue colours found in the blue shades collection. When paired with sheer and semi-transparent fabrics, the light bathing the room is softened, and leaves the room with a luminescent aura of its own.

Behind every curtain there is a story

Deeply rooted in the Nordic design culture, Pagunette aims to echo the contemporary longing for peace and quiet, in the colours of green woods, delicate meadows and dark oceans. While striving to create progressive and modern collections; the stony beaches, rough waters, and mossy forests of Scandinavia, are always ingrained in our designs.
