Water the Roots of Change Interact. Share. Give. Support.

DID YOU KNOW?

We are committed to bringing clean water to developing communities in a self-sustainable process.

WATER IS A BASIC HUMAN NEED.

Meet Loreen and Quinter

Loreen and Quinter are 18 and 19 year old students and aspiring nurses. However, they have to spend much of their school day walking to get water, and this walk can get longer during droughts. The average walk to get clean water is several miles, but more access to clean water will shorten the commute immensely.

Meet Gladwell

Gladwell Wachira is the founder of Hope For Girls and was raped when she was only 16 years old, and was then sold to marry her 76 year old rapist. After realizing that this was happening to many young girls, she got encouraged to fight for her community. Gladwell has rescued over 75 young girls vulnerable to these conditions. By helping provide clean water, we can help save young girls from being taken advantage of and give them more access and time to attend school, become educated and generate income for their families.

Meet Jillian

Jillian’s story is similar to many others, she revolves her everyday life around getting water from her family. She takes at least five, hour-long trips to get water and each trip she carries 20 liters of water. She fetches her water from the lake, which is not only dirty but also dangerous when she encounters crocodiles and emus. These long trips prevent Jillian from enjoying her life as a teen, going to school or achieving her goals and ambitions.

Watering the Roots of Change starts with YOU!
