Skiing at Cerler December 2021

Aramón Cerler is a popular classic ski resort in the heart of the Aragoneses Pyrenees in Spain. This area of the mountain range is especially known for the highest, most abrupt and dramatic peaks, as well as Spain’s only glaciers.

Despite having quite a bit of snow in early December, volatile weather brought strong winds that literally blew the snow off the tops of the highest peaks and knocked out power. The next day was a perfect day with clear skies and no wind.

A great place to stay near Cerler is a delightful town called Benasque. The town has a wonderful character with historic stone buildings and great resorts that support winter and summer sports activities.

To stretch the legs and get a snack, a pit stop in Graus was in order. It’s also a opportunity to see the magnificent frescos in Plaza Mayor and to try empanadicos de calabaza, chocolate, and apple, as well as a flor frita.
