The Great Gastpy By Kendall Pearson

Theme Statement: Love can make people act crazier than they normally are

The theme is evident in the novel, it shows throughout the book with Gatsbys efforts to win over Daisy's heart so he can rekindle their past.Despite her having a significant other he still threw parties and other things in order to win her over.

"Gastby looked at Daisy in a way that every young girl wanted to be looked at"

"There are all kinds of love in this world but never the same love twice "

Gastby:Gastby is a self made wealthy man with a past that dictates his life choices and how he acts around certain people. He is obsessed with a passsed love that has now found a new lover.

"What's with the face , old sport?"

"Sometimes Gatspby went out on to the docks hoping and wishing he could rekindle the past"

Tom Buchanan: Another wealthy man who owns a house close to Gastbys. Also happens to Daisy who is Gastbys previous lovers, husband . Tension between the two cause arguements in the novel

"I suppose the latest thing is to sit back and let Mr. Nobody from Nowhere make love to your wife"

"I learned quick from Daisy about Toms behavior in and around his house"

The symbol represents love and feelings the whole reasoning for Gatsbys and Toms actions towards each other was because of there affections towards Daisy

"I love her that's the beginning and end of everything"

This symbol represents money wealth and power,in the beginning Gatsby didn't have enough money then we he came back from War he attained it to shower his past love Daisy with gifts and he would often throw parties just for her just so he could portray his social status
