Harford Claims Programs First Ever Men's Lacrosse Championship
Harford (MD) secured its 1st NJCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship with a 13-8 victory over powerhouse Nassau in Bel Air, MD on Sunday. The Fighting Owls were able to complete an undefeated season with the win.
Sunday's national title game had quite the story line. As Harford handed Nassau their only loss of the regular season and the last time they met in a tournament game was the Championship game which was a 12-11 double-overtime thriller that landed in Nassau's favor.
Harford entered the championship final determined to complete an undefeated season. The first quarter was a back and forth battle with Harford netting the final two goals to take the lead 4-2 into the second. Both teams locked down defensively in the second only allowing each team to score once as we went to halftime with at 5-3 in favor of Harford.
The momentum carried into the second half for the Fighting Owls as they only allowed the Lions to score five goals while scoring eight goals to secure the win 13-8.
