Eastern prickly gooseberries
Native to eastern and central Canada and United States.
Grows well on rocky slopes, which is where I found it.
Flowers are greenish white.
Berries are safe to eat. Birds love them.

Like most, I do like macro shots with blurred backgrounds, but this is different. When I took the shot in early July 2018, the temperature was so hot that I could not adjust the lens without fogging the surface.
Shot with a Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 lens. I’m hoping to upgrade to 60mm f/2.8 USM Macro lens.
