Congratulations to all our graduating mentees!

With the weather getting warmer and Ontario’s gradual reopening, we hope for everyone to enjoy the outdoors with their friends and families in good health!

As we say goodbye to our 2020-21 cohort, we thank you for all the laughter, memories, and time spent learning and growing with one another. We hope you enjoyed this time just as much as we did! Although this cohort has come to an end, we wish our graduating GEMgirls all the best for their future endeavors!

This is what Isabelle had to say about her experience with GEM:

Mentor Network Wrap-Up Event

On June 10th, the Mentor Network Committee hosted a year-end mentor wrap-up event for our mentors who gathered to celebrate the end of the cohort and their mentees’ achievements!

The event opened with a “Cheers” of celebration, followed by an overview of the year’s activities, and ended with reflections from the mentees. Thank you to all our GEM mentors for your time and commitment. Thank you to the Mentor Network Committee members for arranging and hosting all the great mentor networking activities this year!

RBC hosts GEM’s closing GEMinar

On May 22, in partnership with our program funder RBC, we held our final GEMinar, Owning Your Future, closing the 2020-2021 cohort.

RBC keynote speaker, Olympian, and Paralympian, Erin Latimer inspired GEMgirls with how she succeeded in her alpine skiing career. More inspirational stories and wonderful advice from RBC panelists Peggy Capitain, Valerie Munn, and Reem Araia who shared their thoughts with our mentees about Owning Your Future Career.

Congratulations to the 2020-2021 GEMgirls for your determination and growth! Thank you to RBC, all of our mentors, volunteers, donors, and the GEM Team for your commitment and support throughout this amazing year!
