How to do a simple clay sink trap For potter studio by MAGO LAB

Basically you want to put a bucket between your sink drain and the sewer pipe to avoid that all the clay, plaster, glazes and other toxic and clogging stuff goes directly to the sewer. This is roughly all you need. Make a draft before you start, in order to know what exactly you'll need, every sink configuration is different.
  • A big bucket
  • Some PVC pipe
  • A drain
  • Elbow joints as needed
  • A drain-pipe joint
  • A metal saw
  • A driller
  • A metal file
  • PVC glue
Measure the height of the sewer pipe in any side of the bucket; draw the inner hole of the drain, drill small holes along the line, cut the circle out and file the rough edges.
Screw the drain.
Connect it to the sewer pipe.
Connect the drain-pipe joint to an elbow or straight pipe with PVC glue. Scratch the parts to be glued first, it would make a stronger bond.
You'll need to end up with a pipe that goes deep into the bucket, so the clay stays in the bottom and the water goes down the sewer quite clear.
The final configuration ready to work!
