WHAT IS HENNA?
Henna is a flowering plant that grows 12-15 feet high and comes from the sole species of the Lawsonia Genus. The English name "HENNA" comes from the Arabic term الحناء (al-ḥinnā) and refers to the plant-based dye created from the henna tree, also known as Egyptian Privet, and Mignonette Tree. The leaves of the henna plant contain a natural coloring pigment that is used for temporary body art, coloring hair, dye skin, fingernails as well as fabrics such as leather, wool, and silk.
Henna is widely used on special occasions like weddings, holidays, and birthday parties in India, Pakistan, Africa, and the Middle East. The most popular tradition is the Mehndi Night where the bride, her family, and friends celebrate together by using different mehndi (henna) designs. Typically, the bridal “HENNA” patterns and designs take hours to complete.
The henna plant contains lawsone which is a reddish-orange dye that binds to the keratin (a protein) in our skin and safely stains the skin. The stain can be from pale orange to deep burgundy depending on the quality of the henna and how well ones skin takes it. A good henna, fresh from hot & dry climates, will stain the darkest.
Henna patterns are temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. Henna designs will stain the skin and reach peak color over several days, then it will gradually wear off by way of time & exfoliation. Henna can last up to one to three weeks.

SATOMI'S PASSION FOR ART COUPLED WITH HER UNIQUE JAPANESE STYLE ALLOWS HER TO CREATE PASSIONATE, INSPIRING, UNIQUE PATTERNS AND DESIGNS FOR HER CUSTOMERS. SHE IS ALWAYS CRAFTING UP SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR EACH PERSON. ITS NEVER THE SAME PATTERN, ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW AND EXCITING.
MIHARU (MIMI) MORA
BORN IN MIURA AND RAISED IN YOKOSUKA JAPAN, CURRENTLY A JAPANESE HOSPITALITY EXPERT AND COSMETOLOGY STUDENT IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA. MIMI WAS INTRODUCED TO THE WORLD OF HENNA FROM SATOMI, THROUGH THEIR SHARED LOVE OF ART AND DESIGN, THEY HAVE DEVELOPED A CLOSE FRIENDSHIP AND PARTNERSHIP. THESE TWO TALENTED ARTISTS BOTH SHARE THE PASSION FOR DESIGN, CREATIVITY AND HELPING OTHERS. MIMI HAS DEVELOPED HER OWN SIGNATURE STYLE INCORPORATING ANIME AND CUTE JAPANESE CHARACTER THEMES.
