2023 Sandy City Photo Contest Winners

2023 was a great year for the Sandy City Photo Contest. We received more submissions than we ever have in previous years and the collective quality of the submissions was also the best we've ever seen. This made it truly difficult to pick just 12 winners.

This winter shot of the Rocky Mouth Canyon creek was taken by Brandon Hardman.
Reminding us all that summer is right around the corner, Laura Peterson perfectly nailed the fast shutter speed on this photo.
What a view! This photo by Richard Steele sure got us excited for the start of another RSL season.
How cute is this? This adorable little pup sitting on a Sandy City Fire Engine was an instant winner.
This photo by Guillaume Bigot has us yearning for fall.
The last bit of sunset light hitting the mountain peak under a full moon. Perfection captured by Marcus Xavier.
We love a good photo of City Hall! This shot by Duff Astin showcases the new Gold Star Families Memorial Monument.
This beautiful long-exposure shot by Janice Noyce expertly shows off the serene waters of Dry Creek.
Check out that depth of field! This snowy pup-tograph was taken by Dawn Bardon.
We love this shot by Gordon Swensen of the annual Sandy Healing Fields event.
This photo by Phil Blair just makes us want to leave the office and go horseback riding through Dimple Dell Park.
And finally, this gorgeous shot of Bell Canyon Reservoir was taken by Sierra Krippner.

We also wanted to highlight a few 'Honorable Mentions' that we loved.

Fatima Nawabi gave us this unique look at an empty RSL stadium.
Graham Tinius captured this amazing shot of night time cloud cover.
Toni Hightower was in the right spot at the right time to photograph this optical illusion of a seemingly two-headed, eight-legged deer.
Brandi Holt captured this amazingly detailed photo of a cactus flower.
And Rachel Whitaker snagged this photo of a crystal clear reflection on Bell Canyon Reservoir.
