About Tabea

Tabea is a German singer-songwriter, who is currently based in Portugal. She has spent most of her life travelling, while always playing and composing music. However, only recently she began sharing her music with the world. She records all her songs single-handedly at home, which means that from composing to producing and mixing, she is the sole creator of her music.

Tabea has found her own style, which has a light, sunny and very laid back indie vibe. For the moment, her songs are very folk rooted and feature mostly natural sounds.

Down the Coast

“Down the Coast” is Tabea’s latest single. In this light indie-folk tune, the artist explores what it means to break free from the boundaries that we can sometimes create for ourselves mentally. Through carefreeness and letting go, the song tries to remind us of what it is, that we are living for. Like all her previous songs, “Down the Coast” has been written, produced, and recorded by Tabea.

Ecstatic Love Trap

‘Ecstatic Love Trap’ is Tabea’s second EP, that was released on 19.11.2021. This 3-Song-EP is all about love. Wrapped in dreamy and sunny sounding melodies, her songs tell stories about obsession and adoration, as well the art of finding a common path with someone that you fell in love with and completely forgetting yourself when you’re around that one special person. The songs have been inspired by encounters she made while travelling and by the process of letting a travel-partner follow you into your everyday life, which opens up a whole different journey.

Better Daze

Better Daze is Tabea’s first music publication. This 3-song-EP was recorded during the lockdown and is a reflection of the musician's emotions and thoughts, which, during these strange times, were naturally ambivalent. Better Daze reflects an inner seesaw, that was constantly swinging between trying to find happiness and inner peace, while also feeling unease, fear and anger about the future. Musically, it features mainly acoustic sounds and delivers a light and calming feeling to the audience. It also marks a starting point of Tabea’s musical journey which promises much more to come.

Sugar Queen

Sugar Queen is Tabea's first single following her previously released EP.

Listening to Tabea, I conclude, a sea has opened up all over my face. In her most recent single, "Sugar Queen," the singer based in Portugal melodies about a kind of muse who presents a new, warm, and blessed world. This solar figure can be either the queen herself of our planetary system or a living star that we are attracted to and take pleasure in orbiting. The most interesting thing, in this construction, is its outcome: there is a whole harmonic relationship and the queen is in everything. So it is "sweet pie" and "razor blade", that being the last word we hear. A queen who is sweet, but knows how to cut.
