Principal's Message
This has been an incredibly busy week at Falconer's Hill. We have had pupils at the Primary Cup, performing at the Shakespeare Schools Festival and a visit to Hampton Court. As usual your children have been great ambassadors for the academy. Excellent behaviour and excellent effort. On Thursday we held an Eco Day and the children have all worked hard learning about the environment. There have been whole school surveys on how we travel to school, art work, posters and presentation. The Eco Team are working towards the Eco Schools awards and have identified that our school focus will be learning about global citizenship, marine and transport.

Learning Round-up
Another great week in Maple. We particularly enjoyed making up animals for our information text in Talk for Writing! What a fun activity to get everybody excited about information text. It has been brilliant to see all of Maple enjoying learning about our environment on eco day on Thursday. Keep up the good work!
Silver Birch - What a great week! Eco day on Thursday was a huge success! It was amazing to see our children so engaged in learning about our environment and ways to help save it! We worked on our researching skills and explored how our plastic is polluting the ocean.
Sequoia - What an exciting week! We have had lots of exciting activities this week. Some members of our class performed a Shakespeare play on Tuesday evening, we had interesting discussions during Eco Day on Thursday and we celebrated Red Nose Day on Friday! Amongst all of this we have continued rehearsing our songs for the Magic Flute. In maths we have been solving problems involving time very successfully and have been completing our Amber writes: an instructional guide for ‘How to Thrive at Falconer’s Hill Academy’.
Another great week for Willow this week. The children have been working hard on their new maths topic ‘time’ and looking at using both analogue and digital clocks. They have also been working on their own independent writing tasks in Talk 4 Writing, they have been using their amazing writing skills to create their own survival guide. Another special mention to the hard work of the Year 5 student weeknts who have taken part in their Shakespeare performance this week, you have been amazing. We have also worked hard on our Eco day, where the children have created some amazing pieces of work.
It has been a brilliant week in Oak. The children have worked extremely hard in their assessments and should be very proud of themselves. In Geography we have been continuing to explore the topic of climate change, comparing the different efforts countries have been putting in to reduce their emission. The class has written some great comparisons around this . Keep up the good work Oak class!
Acer have worked incredibly hard on their assessments this week. Their hard work over the year is evident and I look forward to sharing the results with everyone. Keep up the fantastic work Acer!
