An exhibition of photography by acclaimed street photographer and Edinburgh graduate Robert Blomfield (1938-2020) is currently on display at the University's Main Library.
Atmospheric and thought-provoking, many of the photographs offer a glimpse into life on campus and in the city in the 1950s and 1960s.
But what do the students of 2022 make of them? Let's see what Lily, Nicola, Katie and Hannah had to say...
And have a look for yourself...
Born in Leeds, Blomfield moved to Edinburgh in 1956 to study medicine. He arrived in the city as an enthusiastic amateur who was never without a camera around his neck and, over the next decade, honed his skills as a prolific street photographer. The exhibition celebrates Blomfield’s time as a student at the University.
'Robert Blomfield: Student of Light' is on until 1 October 2022, Monday to Saturday, 10am until 6pm in the Main Library Exhibition Gallery (ground floor), George Square.
