7th and 8th grade bands record at Sondheim
Starting about five years ago, the FMS 7th and 8th grade bands started a winter unit where they meet at the Sondheim stage for a recording session. Most of these sessions have resulted in a CD to be sent to the Iowa Bandmasters Association for consideration as a performing ensemble at their annual spring conference. As time goes on, it has become an integral part of the curriculum, teaching balance, blend, intonation, listening and performance skills. Werner Elmker and the Sondheim staff have assisted the band in their endeavor to achieve a quality, unedited recording. Click on the link below to hear the 2017 recording.
