National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is February 7

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Let's Stop HIV Together program and the National Black Justice Coalition will host a webinar on January 27, 2022 at 1pm Eastern Time.

PHACS Emerging Research Pilot (ERP) Program - deadline is February 1, 2022.

2022 HIV League Scholarship for students living with HIV - deadline is January 31, 2022.

Two ATN-related Funding Opportunity Announcements were published this last month: Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions (ATN) Scientific Leadership Center (UM2 Clinical Trial Optional) and Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions (ATN) Operations and Collaborations Center (UM2 Clinical Trial Optional).

Announced this month were two funding opportunities from NIH of interest to HIV Researchers: Advancing communication strategies to support future HIV vaccine use (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) and Advancing communication strategies to support future HIV vaccine use (R01 Clinical Trial Optional).

Ujima: A Mentoring Program for Early-stage Investigators

The Ujima Mentoring Program provides multidisciplinary research mentoring and funding to early-stage investigators, particularly those at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), who focus their programs of research on high priority areas that address HIV prevention, care, and treatment in Black/African American communities. Applications are due by February 11, 2022. See details and how to apply. The program is based at the University of California, San Francisco, Center for AIDS Prevention Studies and is funded by the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) AIDS Research Centers Program.

February 12-16, 2022: Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI). is now a fully virtual event.

March 9-12, 2022: Annual Meeting for SAHM, the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. In-person in San Diego, CA with a virtual component.

July 29 - August 2, 2022. AIDS 2022. Montreal, Canada and virtually. Registration is open. Abstract submission is open until January 27, 2022.

April 27-28, 2022: The Spring ATN Meeting. Please save the date.
