ADR Message

Our major research areas are prevention and intervention, community engagement and education, population health, health services and delivery. In our college, we have a diverse group of researchers including bench scientists, clinical researchers, and applied behavioral researchers along with their students who work collaboratively for scientific advancement. Our researchers take bench research to bedside and to outcomes research. Research within our college is multidisciplinary, innovative, engages community partners, and seeks to improve function and quality of life and reduce disability across the lifespan.

Prevention and Intervention

Creating and implementing new strategies for preventive health care throughout the lifespan, targeting critical issues including nutrition, physical activity, communication, hearing and behavioral health.

Community Engagement & Education

Developing effective community partnerships to serve the health care needs of eastern North Carolina and beyond.

Health Services & Delivery

Applying evidence to improve health care through improved access across populations, reduced costs, and novel, alternative delivery methods such as tele-health or specialty practices.

Population Health

Executing approaches to maintain and improve public health, reduce disparities among health groups and promote healthy aging through multidisciplinary approaches that blend nutrition, physical activity, social and emotional well-being and cognition.
