CALENDAR | BULLETIN | DAINFO | ATHLETICS | PARENTS | DPN

Dear Deerfield Families:

March Break is officially underway! Below, please find some important details about your student's return from the break, a reminder about term-end grades and comments (they will post on March 9), and looking ahead, a save the date for Spring Family Weekend.

A huge thank you to all families who participated in this week's Day of Giving, which this year coincided with Deerfield's 225th Birthday. Final numbers for participation and donations will be shared later in the month. Wishing all of you safe travels, and an enjoyable, restful, and peaceful break.

Coming BACK from Spring Break:

Spring/March Break began at noon today, March 4. Students must return to campus by 7:45 pm on March 20.

All students left campus with a Covid test kit. However, only those students who develop symptoms over the break should use their test kit prior to their return to campus. Those who do not use their test kit during the break should just keep it on hand for possible use in the future.

There will be no testing requirements to return to campus for the Spring Term or broad community surveillance testing upon return to campus. If your student is experiencing symptoms, please make use of the provided at-home test kit. The last day for the asymptomatic twice-weekly Covid testing that is available to all community members was Wednesday, March 2. The on-campus testing schedule will resume on Wednesday, March 23.

If a student becomes symptomatic after they return to campus, they should immediately report to the Health Center.

Spring Family Weekend

April 22 - 23, 2022

This year’s Spring Family Weekend will be held on Friday, April 22 through Saturday, April 23, 2022. We will start off with a welcome from Head of School Dr. John Austin at 11:00 am, so plan accordingly. To see the basic schedule of events, please follow the link below. Registration will open after March Break, and will be shared through the Families FYI.

Please join us in April!

Masking is Optional For All

As of February 18, 2022, the towns of Deerfield and Greenfield rescinded their mask mandates, and reverted to mask advisories. Masking on campus is now optional for everyone including all visitors to campus (with the exception of indoor athletics events). The Academy still strongly recommends that all visitors to campus are vaccinated and boosted.

Doors of the Week

Boys JV Hockey: Will Lodge ’22, George Darling ’22, Bobby Miele ’22

Boys JV Hockey's three senior players are Doors of the Week. JV Hockey is special because of students like Will, George, and Bobby, who love the game, love being on the team, and demonstrate the right balance of work ethic and fun. All three players have been terrific role models for their teammates to follow. They care about the team and have put others first all winter. All team members wish to thank our seniors for their strong leadership and for a great hockey season.

National Wrestling Championships

Congratulations to Adeeva Alli '25 for winning first place at the National Wrestling Championships and to Matt Hickey '22 for earning an 8th place podium finish.

In the final regular season game, girls varsity hockey were led by their eight seniors to a 2-1 victory over Loomis. With the victory, the Big Green earned the #1 seed in the NEPSAC Girls Hockey Patsy Odden (Large School) Championship.
