Recap of JV/VARSITY scrimmage V.s. Bridgeport central high By Nile Jean '24

The Staples Wreckers varsity and junior varsity football team won against Bridgeport Central High School 42-8 on Aug. 31. The game was filled with excitement, encouragement, and chants from coaches, friends, and family. Staples scored three touchdowns in the span of 15 minutes, which helped put them in the lead. Bridgeport's shining moment though was when they scored a touchdown at the end of the second quarter.

Before kickoff, the Wreckers were cheering each other on in preparation for an exciting game.

The game got intense towards the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth, where Staples started to ramp up points. Staples scored 20 more points after Bridgeport’s last touchdown, bringing the score up to 42.

After winning by 34, the football team assured they were ready for their season to officially began.
