Sunday
Today my Sunday began entirely different than usual. I had to wake up at 5 in the morning. It wasn’t as exhausting as I thought ot would be. I got ready and my mother drove me to the airport where I met the others.
The first flight was pretty comfortable except that our flight was delayed for an hour, so we had to wait but let’s just not talk about that….
In Munich we had to run to get the flight to Graz and we made it:) In Graz two buses were waiting for us to take us to school, where our host families were waiting for us.
The families are very nice and friendly. We ate lunch together and talked a lot in my host’s room. We went to Maribor and my new family showed me the city a little as we were taking a walk and eating ice cream. After we got back we continued talking and eating some fruits until Nico and his host family decided to show up, so we played table tennis outside and had fun. Well, at least until the weather decided to rain so we went inside. We ate dinner, got ready for bed, and went to sleep. It was an exciting day. Michalina
My morning started at 6am we met at the Düsseldorf Airport. After we checked in iur baggage and said goodbye to our families, we could walk around before getting on our flight to Munich. The flight attendant was really friendly and surprised us all with water bottles and Lufthansa chocolate.
In Munich we took the airport train to Terminal 2 to get our onward flight. The flight from Munich to Graz was not as wonderful as the first. But you could see a lot of Austria and the Alps. At the Graz Airport we got our bags and loaded them into the 2 vans waiting for us. We drive 50 Minutes to Spodnja Polskava to the school. There we met our host families. My buddy Vid and his mom took me to a restaurant. There was a family meeting and a party. We ate cake, played football and we had a very nice time. Everyone spoke German with me. Vid and his friends taught me Slovenian words and I will try to remember them. Then we drove home to a very nice area.
In the evening we went outside and met a good friend of his, Mia. Michalina was also there. We played table tennis and played with the dog. It started to rain, so we went home, ate some cooked eggs and bread and played PS5. 5. This was my First Day in Slovenia!
Good Night Nico H.
Monday
Today as we woke up we already had most of the day planned. As I was getting ready my partner went to school to prepare something. We picked up one of her friends and one of mine and drove to school. We waited in the canteen before going upstairs into a classroom. There the Slovenian students told us about Slovenia and then we started a workshop “back to the roots” where we started talking about how the past was and how it is now. We did have a little break to eat and drink something and after that we went into their gym. We watched a little play of the “little prince” and watched how some of the students got certifications. We continued working on the workshop and we decided to write a story about the topic when we’re back home in the evening.
We had lunch together and then went to the gym where we had some free time. I played volleyball with two girls and then people joined and left but it was still fun. When we got home we had to hurry because we had half an hour to get home, get ready and get back to school so we could go to the city of Maribor.
We first made a city tour with a tour guide and learned a lot anout the cities history. We saw the worlds oldest grapevine- 450 years old:)
After the tour we went to a shopping center and most of us ate at Mc Donalds. After that we went to Müller and New yorker.
When we got back home I took a shower and went over to my partners friend to work. Before working we took a scooter and drove a little round which was actually fun and even for my first time sitting on a scooter it was a pretty good experience. We went back to my partners place and we listened to all different types of music together. Michalina
Today we were at first at school and worked on our Erasmus Projekt. We talked about how technology changes our lives. Then we had lunch. We had soup and fruitsalad as desert. After that we were at the gym of the school. We did all kinds of sports there. Then we went home to wear fresh clothes. Our excursion to Maribor started after that. Maribor is a really impressive city and is very beautiful. After a guided tour we went to a mall and ate there. In the evening we were in our hostfamilies and did activities with them. That was our second day in Slovenia. Elias
Tuesday
Yesterday we spent the day only with the German students. We went to a cave. In the cave we had a very interesting guided tour. After the tour we had lunch and then we drove to the capital. It is very beautiful and really cute. We walked through the individual shops and had a lot of fun.
Later we went back to school and from there we went home with our buddies. Then there was more food and then we went to bed. Hanna

Our tour through the cave began at 10.45 am. First we drove with a little train inside the cave for about 10 minutes. Then we walked around the cave with our tour guide for about an hour and then we drove to the exit with the train. The tour was very interesting, we saw a few so- called human fish and the cave was beautiful. After the tour through the cave we ate lunch. Then we drove to Ljubljana, which is the capital city of Slovenia. In Ljubljana we had some free time. We went shopping together and had lots of fun. Then we drove back to the school. We stopped at the supermarket called 'Hofer', which is the Slovenian Aldi. We arrived at the school and waited for our host families. My host family picked me up and we went to a café and later to a supermarket. When we got home we went for a little walk through the forest with their dog and talked a lot. All in all it was a very nice day and I really enjoyed it. Malin

Thursday
LG Johanna 👋😁
We woke up in the morning and had breakfast at 8:00 o‘clock. Before breakfast we had to pack our backpacks and clean up our rooms. Then we started with the hije and reached the gondola station after 1 and a half hours, when we had a long break. Johanna and I took a gondola down with drive with Mrs.Temmler. The others walked down so we waited for everyone at the bottom.
The last two days came up to 24 km of hiking. In the afternoon we were in our families and I had fun with friends and played football and other things. The that we cooked with the damily and I went to bed. Good Night- Nico H.
Felix
Today as I woke up my leg hurt a lot from the hiking. I got ready for school and since I still had some time left, I started packing my suitcase a little so I wouldn’t be stressed out later. The father drove us to school and we went into the canteen and waited. As we were sitting in the classroom we played a game to wake up and then continued working on our project “back to the roots” for about an hour. We had a break and ate some watermelon and then went back into the classroom. We presented our things and then we had to work on another project for an hour. We had to create an agency with a program to travel without technology. After we presented our companies we went outside and had like free time. We ate lunch and got back to our houses. We met in a group of six and just spend our free time together. We went back to school and we all were cooking together and enjoying ourselves. We all helped cleaning and everybody talked. We were in school from 4pm till 7pm and then went home. And that was how our last day here ended. Michalina
In the morning we went to school to work on our projects. Our tasks were that we had to finish our projekt that we started on Monday and to create an add about back to the roots. After that we ate lunch at the cafeteria in school. Then we went home. At home we relaxed. At 4pm we went back to school and all students cooked dinner. A few of the students decorated the table and another group cooked the main dish. There were a few students too who made the desert. After we ate we had to clean the room where we ate. Then we went home. Elias
Saturday
Today was the last day of this exchange. We met at school at 8.45 am. We said goodbye to our host families and went to the airport in Zagreb, Croatia. We arrived at the airport at 11 am. Our flight to Munich started at 2.20 pm. We landed in Munich and had some free time to go shopping or to get some food. Our flight was delayed, but then it was cancelled. We had to ask the airport staff if there was any other flight to our destination. There was one flight at almost 9 pm but it wasn't sure if we could get enough seats. We got a 10€ coupon for the airport and bought some food with it. There was one staff member, who brought us snacks and some water. We waited for some hours for the next flight. When the people started boarding, the staff told us that there were enough seats for all of us. We were all so happy. We went to the plane with a bus and started boarding the plane. We arrived in Düsseldorf at 11 pm. Our parents were waiting for us and we were all happy to see them but I also miss the Slovenian students and families. Malin
Epiloge
Our project topic was“Back to the roots „ This week we had a lot of opportunities to discuss the meaning and to explore this term from a historical, cultural, evolutionary and technical point of view. We agreed that, though it is possible to live without a certain amount of technology, life is definitely easier with our phones and appliances. We dealt with challenges, from meeting and staying with new families, who have become friends, to hiking up and down the mountains for 24 km without too much complaining:)
We would like to thank the Slovenian students and their families for opening their homes and hearts, as well as Ms. Keka, Ms Daniça and the whole teacher team for their hospitality.
Upamo, da se kmalu vidimo, hvala in nasvidenje. Petra Temmler & Sigi Geissler
