Karen Gonzàlez Visits Myers Park UMC, March 20, 7 p.m.: Join us in welcoming Karen Gonzàlez, author of Beyond Welcome, for a look at how Christian faith and immigration intersect and why it matters to faith leaders. Stop by Goodness Gracious and pick up a copy of her book, and check out Dr. Howell’s latest podcast featuring Ms. Gonzàlez.

The Meadows at Plato Price Build Day, March 24: Construction has begun at this Habitat for Humanity community supported by your Hope is Here contributions. Our first of three dedicated build days is this Friday. Our job site spots are already filled, but there are still opportunities to support volunteers with meals, water, and camaraderie. Dianne Collard Book-Signing, March 26, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.: Missionary, author, arts advocate, and church member Dianne Collard will sign copies of her book I Choose to Forgive: An Intimate Journey with God, at Goodness Gracious. This book tells the story of how she and her family chose to forgive the man who murdered their son.

Baptism Class, March 26, 10 a.m., Francis Chapel: This class will deepen your understanding of this Holy Sacrament and is an essential first step for those preparing for baptism. If you have questions about or want to schedule a baptism, email Peg Broughton at peg@mpumc.org.

Discover Myers Park, March 26, 11 a.m., room 108: Join Rev. Jessica Dayson to learn about our church and the beliefs and practices of our denomination. There is no obligation to join, but the opportunity will be available for you. Email Jeanne Poole at jpoole@mpumc.org for details.

Purchase an Easter lily in honor or memory of a loved one here or send a check for $20 per lily to the church along with the name of the person you are honoring/remembering. Dedications will be shared in the Easter Sunday worship bulletins. Last day to order is March 27.

Middle School Mayhem and High School Hype Night, March 31, 6:45-10 p.m.: Join us for opening night with the Charlotte Knights! We will stay and watch the fireworks after the game. Cost is $35, which includes a $15 food credit. Meet us at the stadium at 6:45 p.m. Click here to sign up.

March Collection for Schools and Children: This month we are collecting snacks for Hidden Valley’s Saturday school program students and items most requested by our neighbors in our partner communities. There are two ways to donate: shop from the Amazon Wishlist and ship items directly to the church, or shop on your own and drop off items to the Missions office. If you shop on your own, please purchase only the brands specified. Thank you for your generosity.

Senior Recognition Sunday Registration: All high school seniors and their parents are invited to participate in our special tradition of Senior Recognition Sunday on May 14. A luncheon will follow in Jubilee Hall. There are a limited number of spots at each sanctuary service. Click here to sign up.

College Students’ Trip to Faith Ministry: Calling all college students! Come celebrate the end of the semester with a week with our friends at Faith Ministry May 21-27. We will build walls, roof houses, and renew spirits while reconnecting to our faith and to each other. Cost is $600 plus flight. Click here to register by April 1.
