Hobart Football Awards 11 Statesmen take home awards at Block H

Hobart Head Football Coach Kevin DeWall '00 honored 11 Statesmen when he presented the team awards at the annual Block H Awards Dinner. Running backs Tim Denham Jr. and Rayshawn Boswell won the Bill Middleton Memorial Football Award as the team's offensive MVPs, while linebacker Emmett Forde took home the Bob Toner Defensive MVP Award.

Also receiving honors were tight end Mike Zaccone, linebacker Bryan Aguilar, defensive back Cal Sullivan, defensive back Jared Leake, defensive lineman Isaiah Boone, linebacker CJ Calero, offensive lineman Kieran Paskewitz and linebacker Anthony Romano.

Tim Denham Jr. '23

  • 1st team All-Region 2, D3football.com
  • Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year
  • 1st team All-Liberty League, (running back and return specialist)
  • 1st team All-ECAC
  • Rushed for 1,168 yards on 213 carries
  • Had 13 rushing touchdowns
  • Returned 10 kickoffs for 220 yards and a TD
  • Had season-high 213 yards and 3 TDs against Buffalo State

Rayshawn Boswell '22

  • 1st team All-Liberty Leage
  • Recorded 934 rushing yards on 129 carries
  • Led Liberty League with 14 rushing touchdowns
  • Caught 19 passes for 272 yards
  • Logged a season-high 146 rushing yards against RPI
  • Had three rushing touchdowns against St. John Fisher

  • 2x Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year
  • 1st team All-Liberty League
  • Captain
  • Started all nine games he played in
  • Led the Liberty League in tackles for loss, sacks and forced fumbles
  • Third on the team in tackles
  • Had nine tackles including two for loss against Ithaca

  • Had four receptions for 33 yards

The Harter Family Award

Bryan Aguilar '22

  • 1st team All-Liberty League
  • Led team with 85 tackles
  • Recorded season-high 17 tackles against Union
  • Also had double digits in tackles against St. Lawrence, St. John Fisher and Rochester
  • Had an interception against Rensselaer

The Michael Theodore Silver '39 Memorial Award

Cal Sullivan '21

  • All-Liberty League honorable mention
  • Recorded 32 tackles
  • Notched four interceptions, bringing down two against St. John Fisher
  • Had an 86 yard interception for a touchdown against Rochester
  • Also won 2022 Joe Arnitz '66 Memorial Sportsmanship Award

Mike Roberti '90 Memorial Award

Isaiah Boone '22

  • NSCA College All-American Strength & Conditioning Athlete of the Year
  • Had 22 tackles with two sacks and three tackles for loss
  • Logged season-high five tackles against Westminster
  • Recorded three tackles, including 1.5 sacks in the win over RPI

Jared Leake '22

  • 3rd team All-Region D3football.com
  • 1st team All-Liberty League
  • Had 31 tackles on the season
  • Logged eight pass breakups, three interceptions
  • Season-high five tackles at Ithaca and St. Lawrence
  • Three pass breakups against the Saints
  • Interception in the ECAC Bowl against Westminster

The Shirley A. Zornow '47 Memorial Award

CJ Calero '22

  • National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society inductee
  • Recorded 62 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks
  • Had two pass breakups and two forced fumbles
  • Logged season-high eight tackles three times
  • Notched six tackles and blocked a PAT in Hobart's 10-9 win over RPI

The Tryon Football Award

Kieran Paskewitz '22

  • 3rd team D3football All-Region 2 selection
  • 1st team All-Liberty League
  • Starting right tackle for offense that ranked 3rd in the nation in sacks allowed (0.45/g)
  • O-line was 11th in tackles for loss allowed (3.36/g) and 20th in rushing yards (237.5 ypg)

Rookie Award for Football

Anthony Romano '24

  • Played in all 11 games
  • Recorded 21 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss
  • Had an interception against Alfred in collegiate debut
  • Blocked a punt against Morrisville

Hobart was 9-2 overall this season. The Statesmen closed out the 2021 season with a 21-3 win over Westminster (Pa.) in the ECAC Asa S. Bushnell Bowl. Hobart ranked 11th in the nation in team passing efficiency defense (95.74), 14th in scoring defense (12.6 ppg), 14th in passing yards (152.5), 16th in third down percentage defense (.286) and 17th in total defense (252.9).
