Fieldmice and Rabbits' Visit
Rabbits' and Fieldmice have had a fantastic morning at Abbeyfield School celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. The children took part in a variety of royal themed games to help develop their gross and fine motor skills. The children and staff participated in a huge royal possession with an amazing samba band. The children had great fun horse racing, decorating the Queen’s dress, parachute games and face painting. The children were fabulous and we all had a great time!

Parent OPAL Playday Invitation
We are very excited to be able to introduce the OPAL project to parents on Friday 20th May. You are invited to come for the afternoon to play with your child/children in the school grounds. We will be making dens, making up imaginative stories, playing with water and much more.
Please email the school office by Thursday 19th May if you would like to attend. Younger siblings are welcome.
We are really excited about this project and hope that you will support us in our efforts to improve playtime for all children.
If possible, please bring a loose part donation to help with den making, for instance a tyre, lean wood, tarpaulin, plastic pipe, crate. We also are always looking for ride-on toys, scooters, old suitcases and dressing up clothes.
Schedule:
1pm - Arrive
1.15 - 1.45pm Talk on the OPAL Programme by our OPAL Mentor
1.50 - 2.40 Free play session with children
Please dress for all weathers and for play!
School Jumpers
Now the weather is beginning to warm up, the children are taking off their jumpers and cardigans. As is the nature of uniform, the jumpers all look the same! Please can you ensure that your child's name is written clearly in the clothing, so we can return it. Thank you
FOMPS
There are only two more weeks to go until the Monkton Park Royal Scarecrow Trail, and to run the event successfully we need your help! Do you have a couple of hours to spare during the event weekend to help sell trail sheets? Or maybe help with the BBQ?
We desperately need someone with a food handling certificate to supervise the BBQ. If you are able to help, please get in touch.
Please go to the website below and sign up to be part of this special event:
If baking is more your thing, we are also looking for your donations of cakes to sell over the weekend. Please give generously (but easy on the buttercream as it doesn't like the sun).
The next FOMPS meeting will be held on TEAMs on Tuesday 10th May at 8pm. Please click here for the meeting.
Thank you for your support!
