New AzEIP Dashboard and 2022 Performance Report

Annie Converse, AzEIP Data Manager

AzEIP is excited to announce the launch of a new dashboard with data for stakeholders along with the annual performance report. Both the new AzEIP Data Dashboard for Stakeholders and 2022 Performance Profiles and Determinations for Service Providing Agencies are now live on the AzEIP website at https://des.az.gov/services/disabilities/developmental-infant/azeip-publications-and-reports.

AzEIP initially launched an interactive dashboard as part of its annual Performance Report in 2021, which shows the performance of each service-providing agency relative to state and federal targets. Because the dashboards have been well received, AzEIP expanded the dashboard information to include:

• Commonly requested data from various stakeholders, and

• A standalone dashboard separating it from the public report.

Being a data informed program is essential for AzEIP, and it creates a lot of stakeholder involvement from helping set targets to continuously improving year after year. The new dashboard allows anyone interested in key performance indicators and demographic data to see how AzEIP is doing and allows for more community.

“I am really proud of the dashboard as a whole,” said Annie Converse, AzEIP Data Manager. “There are a lot of visualizations to help make for meaningful information. But what I really love is that we have included a state map geocoded to show the number of children with IFSPs throughout the state. It really gives a sense of where and how many children are receiving services. There are plenty of line graphs and pie charts for individuals that like those. We’ve even been able to list out the number of children with IFSPs in each zip code for community organizations that need to know that data, but we’ve also been able to balance that with protecting the privacy of individual families while doing so.”

Transparency is key for AzEIP. At the same time as launching its new dashboard, AzEIP also posted its annual public report with the performance of each service providing agency in the same interactive format. The annual public report includes the performances of Team Based Early Intervention Service Contractors, the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and Arizona Schools for the Deaf and Blind (ASDB). The annual performance report shows where service-providing agencies are making strides in their efforts to support infants and toddlers and their families, and identifies where there are opportunities for improvement.

Annie also notes that “The great thing about the public report is that many of the targets have been set by our stakeholders. Each year in November or December, we have a public meeting. Everyone -- families, providers, early childhood programs, and other state agencies -- help us look at the data and provide input into where our targets should be set. Each year we have more and more attendees, so I like to think that having interactive reports and dashboards make everyone feel comfortable with the data so they can provide that kind of feedback.”

The dashboard and the public report are found on the Publications and Reports section of the AzEIP website at https://des.az.gov/services/disabilities/developmental-infant/azeip-publications-and-reports.

Dale King Named Social Worker of the Year by RISE Arizona

Gina Johnson, Founder & Director of Sharing Down Syndrome, named Dale King (RISE Early Intervention Services) as Social Worker of the Year at the 2022 Sharing Down Syndrome Walk.

According to Lauren Encinas, Executive Director of RISE Arizona:

"Dale has been instrumental in referring AzEIP families to Sharing Down Syndrome and helping Sharing Downs get in contact with families, which has been especially challenging over the past few years with COVID. Dale has worked with AzEIP for over 10 years and is an incredible support for our families. We are so lucky to have her on our team!"

Congratulations Dale!
