MEYC Clubhouse - The Group
Besides our Open House May 25th, you will also see The Group, a plein aire art group including painters from local areas such as Marblehead, Sandusky, Catawba Island, Mansfield, and more. We welcome these artists to our clubhouse area where you will be able to view, admire, or even purchase some of these amazing artworks.
A little note from The Group:
"The Group" which consists of artists that meet on a regular basis usually meeting for breakfast on Monday mornings at various eateries mostly on the Marblehead Peninsula. Artists are from north central Ohio. During this past winter, they met in the evenings at the Catawba Brewery doing portrait and figurative works.
The show will highlight their work done from life, or "plein aire" if outdoors. They are a loose knit group that take their work seriously, but not so much themselves. Most of the works entered in the show will be for sale. Please come out to enjoy this show, which will kick off our regular outdoor season. We have a wide variety of media, ages, styles, etc., and have a membership of 15-20 artists. Help support our local artists!

Join them for them 2nd Annual Marblehead Purse Bingo on March 9, 2019 at St. Mary's Social Hall. Tickets are $40.00 each. You can reserve your table with a purchase of 8 tickets. Tickets include 16 games of bingo (16 chances to win a designer purse) and a full dinner of your choice of Sliced Sirloin in au jus or Chicken Franchaise with Duchess Potatoes, Green Beans Almondine, Salad, and Desert provided by 1812 Food & Spirits. We will have over 15 baskets for raffles, 50/50, and rip tickets. Tickets go on sale on December 1, 2018. Pick up your tickets with cash or check at the Marblehead Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, GenoaBank, or Holiday Inn Express or call the Chamber at 419-702-7492 and pay by credit card. Proceeds to this event will go to the Danbury Parent Teacher Community Organization, Danbury Athletics, and the Marblehead Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

Port Clinton News Harold: Summer visitors and residents will have a new dining option in 2019, as a local couple plan to open a restaurant that has, as one owner put it, "something for everybody on the menu."
Gabe Zeller and his wife, Julie Mesenburg, have a goal to open Lago Coastal Cafe by Memorial Day.
The restaurant, at 521 E. 6th St. in Lakeside, will feature a walk-up window, carryout service and indoor and outdoor seating.
Zeller said he was approached by Lakeside's president and CFO over the summer about the possibility of opening a new restaurant in the coastal community.
He said the Lakeside officials had an idea of opening a restaurant near the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus and its 6,000-square-foot pool, which opened in July 2017.

The Bowling Green State University Planetarium is a 114-seat public science theater serving BGSU students, area schools, and the public of northwest Ohio. Set under a 40-foot dome, the state-of-the-art SciDome video system fills the dome with video that can immerse you in the cosmos and can show the sky as it would be seen from any place on the Earth at any time. The Planetarium was opened in 1984 and extensively renovated in 2013 and 2014. It is operated by the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
University Astronomy Courses use the Planetarium as a classroom year-round.
Public planetarium programs are open to all are given from September through early May each year. Programs feature a star talk showing the current evening sky followed by a multimedia planetarium show. Weekend programs are followed by stargazing at the Observatory on the roof, weather permitting.
