AgDiscovery 2023 Investing in the Future of American Agriculture

Program Overview

AgDiscovery is a unique opportunity for students to explore agricultural sciences, and gain knowledge about careers in animal and plant disciplines, wildlife management, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, entomology, food safety, food production, agribusiness, forestry, and MUCH more! Students experience hands-on learning workshops, behind-the-scenes tours, laboratory and field exercises, in addition to a variety of cultural and teambuilding activities.

This two-week summer residential program targets rising 8th-11th graders. Students chosen to participate in AgDiscovery will explore a research topic through hands-on laboratory experiences, workshops, and field trips. Students will also participate in character and team-building activities and diversity workshops.

Location:

South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC

Cost:

Students selected for AgDiscovery will pay only the cost of their transportation to and from SC State’s campus. The Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee of APHIS’ Plant Protection and Quarantine Division will sponsor the cost of tuition, room and board, and lab supplies for the two-week program.
