Jump in even when you don't know where it's headed!
On Friday, August 9th, Team JFS embarked on an adventurous journey – 16 teams, 8 challenges, one amazing experience. We were silly, we were awkward, we were vulnerable, we were competitive, and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. This was our experience, and this is what it looks like when we give ourselves permission to play!
It’s easier to get to know your co-workers when you’re laughing.
Being silly is being vulnerable, and that brings us closer together. Laughing allows us to let go of perceptions or ideas that we had about each other. This is when we get to see a different side of our co-workers.
Work Hard, Play Hard
From Trash Puppets to Laughter Yoga to the Tic Tac Toe Relay and everything in between, laughter was contagious, and it felt amazing. Here’s what we did:
- Transformed trash into treasure
- Explored storytelling
- Tested our minute to win challenge skills
- Moved a marble along a journey
- Put our brains together and solved puzzles
- Took Tic Tac Toe to another level
- Yoga and laughing, enough said
- Got to the heart of having deep conversations

Team JFS at its best. Teamwork makes the dream work!
We allowed ourselves to take time away from our busy workday. We created space to connect with one another as whole people, not just co-workers that share a work space. We learned that fun doesn’t have to have a purpose – fun is the purpose.
We discovered the value of play and really allowed ourselves to experience pure, in-the-moment, bliss. There’s nothing else like it.
And the games and shenanigans continued …
This was an unforgettable experience because each one of you made the decision to show up with open minds and hearts. Our hope is that you continue the momentum and playfulness as you approach your work and your life.
The adventure doesn't have to end here. Be brave and incorporate play into every day. Remember, fun is best when it's shared. Now go out and play!
