In LIRA this half term, we have read a wide variety of texts and worked on various skills.

We have read a wide variety of texts such as “malamander”, “There’s a boy in the girls’ bathroom” And A variety of Suspense pieces of writing.

We have worked on our inference and deduction skills, investigated the deeper meaning of texts and practised answering 3-mark questions.

Our first literacy outcome this half term was to write a horror narrative scary enough to scare your grandma.

We read a variety of examples in order to identify what makes a good horror narrative and magpied as much vocabulary as possible.

We then learnt and practised a variety of writing techniques which would help us to compose our horror narrative: Short sentences, figurative language and dialogue.

Here are the outcomes!

Our second literacy outcome was to write a non-chronological report. We explored how a non-chronological report is structured and what writing features are needed to write a good one.
