This is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to start a career in recruitment, within a thriving local business, working alongside our highly skilled and professional team. You would be working towards your NVQ in Business Administration during your first year followed by a qualification in recruitment whilst earning and gaining valuable industry experience.

Based within our East Lancashire recruitment department, you will be working alongside experienced Recruiters providing administration support.

You will be given the opportunity to work alongside an established recruitment team, gaining further knowledge and developing their skills in a recruitment environment. Alongside this you will be supported in achieving your qualifications.

To be a successful Cummins Mellor Apprentice you will have…

  • A sound knowledge of how an apprenticeship works, ensuring you meet the eligibility criteria for an apprenticeship
  • Have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at A – C including Maths and English
  • Understand our Company Core Values and be able to give examples of how you could demonstrate these values in your role
  • Have a good standard of IT knowledge including the use of Microsoft Office
  • Have a professional telephone manner and good customer service skills
  • Be committed to self-development, be enthusiastic for training opportunities and possess a strong desire to succeed and excel

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the recruitment process
  • Researching candidates for recruitment purposes
  • Updating the Company Client Relationship Management system
  • Managing Diary Systems
  • Resolving customer service queries
  • Assisting with the registration process
  • Conducting internal auditing to ensure processes are being maintained
  • Making telephone calls to customers
  • Completing paperwork for both clients and candidates confirming placements
  • Maintaining and updating records on bespoke databases

We work with local businesses and can therefore offer the opportunity of securing a permanent role once the apprenticeship has been completed, should you not remain with us. However it should be noted that our hire rate from previous apprenticeships is 100%, with many of those past apprentices now holding senior positions of responsibility across the company.

We're also very passionate about providing a work-life balance and regularly have team days out which could be anything from a lovely meal to a good old Cummins Mellor BBQ!
