WE DID IT!

What an incredibly fun afternoon we had on Thursday! We came together as a school community to celebrate our Fun Run. We had the BIG reveal of our grand total and announced our classroom prizes. We were all shocked by our overall total - $29,582.44! Thank you to our families for your overwhelming generosity. We had 87% of our families donate to help support our Leonard PTO. Both the grand total and the percentage of participation are school records for us! We will celebrate with a whole-school prize of a Glow Dance Party in the coming weeks.

One hundred percent of these donations will support our children. A few examples of how our PTO uses these funds:

  • $4700 in classroom donations
  • $4500 for busses for the 5th graders to go to camp
  • $3000 for busses for the 4th graders to go to Lansing
  • $1700 for classroom parties throughout the year
  • $800 for assemblies
  • $2500 for books
  • And so much more!

For a full list of our PTO expenses check out our budget on the Leonard website.

Here's a quick video of the big reveal!

A special congratulations to our classes who have done an outstanding job! Mrs. Starn's class and Mr. Jamieson's class both had 100% participation! After all the results were tallied, these classes earned the GOLDEN, SILVER, and BRONZE shoes...

Mrs. Perez's 3rd grade class - GOLDEN SHOE WINNERS!
Mrs. Marinkovski's kindergarten class - SILVER SHOE WINNERS!
Mrs. Moffett's second grade class - BRONZE SHOE WINNERS!

Parent-Teacher Conferences (October 26 & 27)

A strong home-school partnership is an essential component in ensuring every child's success. We value the relationships our team builds with each Leonard family. While we welcome and encourage communication at any time throughout the school year, TSD has set aside two days in October for every parent to meet with their child(ren)'s teacher. This 15-minute individual time is intended for the teacher to share celebrations and goals with you. It is also a great time for parents to ask specific questions and make plans for supporting their children. This year we will have the option of an in-person or a virtual conference, depending on the day:

Wednesday, October 26: All In-Person Conferences

Thursday, October 27: All Virtual Conferences

Please use the link below to reserve your conference appointment. It is important that all families have a scheduled time. If you have made an appointment for Thursday, your child's teacher will share a link with you in the coming weeks for you to join the virtual conference.

TSD Bond 2022

This upcoming Election Day (November 8), an important school bond is on the ballot. The purpose of this bond is to secure funds to upgrade our schools in four major areas: Safety and Technology; Infrastructure and Sustainability; Program Enhancements; and Future-Ready Learning Environments. We are excited about the possibility of making a generational impact in our community. A few highlights about what this bond could mean for Leonard are:

  • An additional third kindergarten classroom
  • Upgraded, accessible playgrounds for ALL children
  • ADA compliant bathrooms
  • Enhanced safety/security measures (ex. additional cameras)
  • New classroom furniture and design
  • Dimmable lighting
  • Media Center updates

Please save the date to VOTE on November 8!
