JUNIOR SCHOOL UNIFORM
The Branksome Junior School student uniform for 2024–25 is outlined below. We suggest that all uniform items are labelled with your child's name in case they are misplaced, so we can return them promptly. Numbers listed are suggested quantities.
UNIFORM SHOP

JK—GRADE 2
Number One Dress Uniform (Mon.)
- BH tunic with black cartwheel shorts (1-2)
- BH button-down blouse (1+)
- BH knee-high green socks (4-6) or tights (3)
- BH cardigan (optional)
Shoes:
- Plain, all-black no heel leather shoe (must take a shine).
- Plain, all-black leather running shoe (must take a shine); black soles and laces.
Daily Uniform (Tues./Wed./Thurs.)
Full/bottom options:
- BH tunic (1-2)
- with BH knee green socks (4-6) or tights (3)
- BH summer skort (1-2) (September–Mid October/May–June)
- with BH summer socks (3+)
- Any navy dress pant (1+) (no leggings, jeggings, shorts or capris)
- with navy socks (3-4)
Top options:
- BH polo shirt (2-3)
- BH button-down blouse (1+)
- BH turtleneck (1-2)
- with BH green quarter-zip (1+) or BH cardigan (1+) (worn on top of turtleneck)

- Any colour running shoes (no light-up or rolling shoes)
Grades 3–6
Bottom options:
- BH PE shorts (2+)
- with casual sport socks
- BH PE sweatpants (1)
- with casual sport socks
Top:
- BH PE T-shirt (2+)
- BH PE red hoodie (1)
Shoes:
- Any colour running shoes (no light-up or rolling shoes)
Swim
- BH swimsuit (1) or plain one-piece swimsuit
- Swim cap
- Goggles
- Towel
- Optional: Branksome gym bag
Fit Friday
Bottom options:
- BH sweatpants or BH shorts
- with casual sport socks
- Any sweatpants or leggings in black or navy (no other colours, logos or designs)
- with casual sport socks
Top options:
- Any athletic top purchased from The Shop with BH crest/name on it: BHPE T-shirt, Clan T-shirt, Clan hoodie, Red PE hoodie
Shoes:
- Running shoes
Throughout the year there are Clan, Theme and Grub Days. Families will be notified via the Friday File West when these days are approaching.
Clan Days: When the Junior School hosts a Clan event or activity, students are encouraged to wear Clan flair colour that represent their Clan (no make-up).
Theme Days: Theme Days range from wearing your favourite sports team shirt, to dressing up as a book character to wearing a colour that shows support for a cause. Every year, we recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by wearing an orange shirt, Pink Shirt Day and International Women’s Day.
SENIOR & MIDDLE SCHOOL UNIFORM
The Branksome Senior & Middle School uniform for the 2024–25 school year is outlined below. Numbers listed are suggested quantities.

Grades 7–12
Number One Dress Uniform (Mon.)
The Number One Dress Uniform must be worn all day on Mondays (to every class) and to all school ceremonies. It may be worn any other day the student wishes.
- Blazer (sweaters/cardigans may not be worn under the blazer) (1)
- Long-sleeved white button-down BH dress shirt (1+) with tie knotted at the collar (1) and tie pin (1)
- Kilt (no more than 4” above the knee) (1–2), kilt pin (1–2) and green knee socks (pulled up) (4–6) or
- Navy blue dress pants hemmed to the ankle (1), with blue ankle socks (3–4)
- Black shoes (flat, no white trim or laces, leather and must take a shine).
Daily Uniform (Tues./Wed./Thurs.)
Required:
- Polo Shirt (long- or short-sleeved) (2+) or a BH-crested turtleneck (1–2) or
- Long-sleeved white button-down BH dress shirt with tie knotted at the collar (and tie pin) (1+)
- Kilt (no more than 4” above the knee) (1–2), kilt pin (1–2) and green knee socks (4–6) (pulled up) or
- Navy blue dress pants hemmed to the ankle (1), with blue ankle socks (3–4)
- Black shoes (flat, no white trim or laces, leather and must take a shine).
Optional additions:
- Clan or Hunting Stewart scarf (purchased from The Shop)
- BH-crested green quarter-zip or green v-neck
PE Uniform and Fit Friday
PE Uniform
During PE classes only, students are permitted to wear/use:
- Black Branksome PE T-shirt (required)
- Branksome Red Hooded Sweatshirt (optional)
- Black Branksome PE shorts, Branksome PE sweatpants, or black athletic pants
- White sport socks
- Athletic running shoes (no Air Force Ones)
- Water bottle (no glass)
Swim
- BH swimsuit (1) or plain one-piece swimsuit
- Swim shorts/pants and shirt
- Swim cap
- Goggles
- Towel
- Water bottle (no glass)
- Optional: Branksome gym bag, slides/flip flops
Fit Friday
On Fridays, students may wear the Fit Friday uniform:
- “Branksome on Top;” Athletic T-shirts and sweatshirts that have the Branksome name and/or crest
- Black or grey athletic pants
- Sport socks
- Athletic running shoes
- Diploma 2 students may wear their “grad pants” as part of the Fit Friday uniform
- Branksome HPE shorts (or those of similar length) may be worn September, October, May and June.
The only acceptable alternative to the Fit Friday uniform is the Branksome uniform.
