Starbucks sugar cookie imitation syrup warms the soul Maya hruskar '23

It's that time of year... no, not, Christmas - Starbucks holiday drinks! Added to the slew of cheery-flavoured concoctions Starbucks whips up every year is the brand new sugar cookie latte. This drink is absolutely delicious, nailing the classic sugar cookie flavor. In the spirit of the holidays and saving money, this imitation recipe provides the blueprint to create the flavor-bomb that is sugar cookie syrup, for use in coffee or whatsoever you choose.

Ingredients:

ingredients to make sugar cookie syrup
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • ½ cup of white sugar
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon of almond extract

First, add brown sugar, white sugar and coconut milk to a small saucepan.

Next, put the saucepan on medium heat and whisk to combine the ingredients.

Raise the heat so the mixture boils, then lower it to a simmer and leave it for 15 minutes. The color will darken in this step.

Remove the mixture from the heat and add the vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt. Whisk to combine.

Your sugar cookie syrup is now ready! Use it in coffee or hot chocolate to spice things up with some holiday flair.
