Quello che oggi noi conosciamo come Convitto, è il frutto di cambiamenti in ambito didattico e istituzionale, subiti nel corso degli anni.

Presumo che Harry Potter abbia scelto Hogwarts e non il Convitto perché a lui di diventare mago nelle lingue straniere proprio non interessava. Vera sfortuna, poverino, questione di qualche secolo; non sapeva che un tempo le arti oscure proposte in questa scuola toccavano anche il latino, il greco e tanto altro.
A dircelo sono stati i quadri: sussurravano “la storia di questa scuola che fluttua sulle acque del Lago d’Iseo”. Ed è vero. Nel 1400 è stato il lago a far fiorire il commercio di lana, incrementando la popolazione e il bisogno di istruzione. Nasce la prima scuola elementare, che solo con il contributo dei fratelli Brighenti diventerà Accademia.
Proprio a questo punto acquisisce fama: contesa tra comune e chiesa quasi fino al Novecento, ospiterà durante i secoli non solo studenti da tutta la provincia ma anche orfani. Tra cambi di sede, ideali e tipologie di insegnamento, nel 1890 diventa ufficialmente Convitto Nazionale.
Ma la sua storia di continua evoluzione prosegue con l’annessione per breve tempo del liceo scientifico e l'ammissione delle ragazze come studentesse. Per tutto questo tempo solo una cosa è rimasta invariata, il riguardo speciale per i suoi studenti.

So ein Pech! Wenn der Ärmste ein paar Jahrhunderte früher geboren worden wäre, hätte er Latein, Griechisch und vieles mehr lernen können.
Alte Gemälde haben uns die Geschichte dieser Schule, die auf den Wassern des Iseo Sees zu treiben scheint, erzählt. Und es ist eine wahre Geschichte. Um 1400 war es dieser See, der den Wollhandel florieren ließ. Die Bevölkerung wuchs und der Bedarf an Bildung stieg. Die erste Grundschule wurde gegründet, die durch den Beitrag der Brüder Brigenti zu einer Akademie wurde.
In dieser Zeit erlangte sie Berühmtheit und ihre Leitung blieb bis ins 20. Jahrhundert hinein zwischen Gemeinde und Kirche umstritten. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte beherbergte das Internat nicht nur Schüler aus der gesamten Provinz, sondern auch Waisenkinder. Nach einem Wechsel des Standorts, der Ideale und der Unterrichtsformen wurde es 1890 verstaatlicht.
Doch die Geschichte der andauernden Veränderungen setzte sich mit dem kurzzeitigen Anschluss des mathematisch-naturwissenschaftlichen Gymnasiums und der Aufnahme von Schülern weiblichen Geschlechts fort. Während dieser ganzen Zeit blieb nur eines unverändert: die besondere Aufmerksamkeit für ihre Schüler.
Supongo que Harry Potter escogió el colegio de Hogwarts y no el Convitto porque a él la idea de convertirse en un mago de los idiomas no le importaba nada. ¡Qué mala suerte! Pobrecito, solo cuestión de siglos. No sabía que en aquella época las artes oscuras aquí impartidas incluyan también el latín, el griego y mucho más.
Son los cuadros los que nos lo han dicho. Susurraban “la historia de este colegio fluctúa sobre las aguas del Lago de Iseo”.
Y es cierto. En el siglo XV fue el lago de Iseo el que favoreció el florecimiento del comercio de lana, incrementando la población y la necesitad de educación. Nace la escuela primaria, que solamente con la contribución de los hermanos Brigenti se convertirá en Academia.
A estas altura adquiere prestigio: disputada por ayuntamiento e iglesia hasta casi el siglo XX, acogerá durante los siglos no solo estudiantes de toda la provincia, sino también huérfanos. Entre cambios de sedes, ideales y tipos de enseñanza, en 1890 se convierte oficialmente en “Convitto Nazionale”.
Sin embargo, su historia de continua evolución sigue con la anexión durante poco tiempo del bachillerato de ciencias y la admisión de las mujeres como estudiantes. A lo largo de todos este tiempo solamente una cosa ha permanecido inalterable, la especial consideración por sus alumnos.
