Awards Presented at the In-Person Cardinal Red Carpet Event:
Cardinal Spirit Award- This award is given to one student-athlete on each respective team that embodies the UIW Mission and Core Values. Voted by: Each respective team’s coaching staff
Team Community Service Award- This award is given to one men’s team and one women’s team who had the highest cumulative service hours recorded for this academic year based off of roster size. Selected by: Life Skills Statistics
Team GPA Award- This award is given to the team who had the highest cumulative GPA for the spring 2021 and Fall 2021 semesters. Selected by: Academic Advising Statistics
Staff of the Year Award- The Staff of the Year Award goes to an employee based on their specific contributions to the mission, goals and values of UIW Athletics. This employee exhibits commitment to quality in carrying out job responsibilities and is an asset to the UIW Athletic Department. Eligibility for this award: must serve the university for more than one year, must serve outside of a coaching capacity, must not be on the Cardinal Red Carpet Committee. Voted by: Cardinal Red Carpet Committee
Individual Service Award (Women & Men)- This award is given to two student-athletes that have shown excellence in their community service efforts. Voted by: Life Skills Coordinator
SAAC Member of the Year Award (Women & Men)- This Award is given to two student-athletes on SAAC who went above and beyond to make SAAC a better place by volunteering at various events, staying on top of tasks, and being interactive in meetings and group chats. Voted by: SAAC representatives

Athletic Director’s Team Award- This award is presented to one men’s team and one women’s team that have overall success in the Classroom, Community, and Competition. Selected by: Athletic Director
Comeback player (Women & Men)- This award is given to two student-athletes that overcame injury, illness, or circumstances to excel on the field this season. Voted by: Each Head Coach select one student-athlete from their team - and then head coaches vote for one on behalf of all UIW Sports
Newcomer of the year (Women & Men)- This award is given to the top-performing student- athlete in his or her first season within the team. Voted by: Each Head Coach select one student-athlete from their team - and then head coaches vote for one on behalf of all UIW Sports
Team MVP Award- This award is given to one student-athlete on each respective team who contributed the most to his or her team's success this season. Voted by: Each respective team’s coaching staff
Mamba Mentality Award- This award is given to one student- athlete on each respective team who embraced the mindset of focusing on the process and trusting in the hard work when it matters most. It’s the ultimate mantra for the competitive spirit. Voted by: The Student-Athletes of each respective team
Outstanding Mentor Award- This award is given to one student-athlete on each respective team who demonstrated effort that was above and beyond student-athlete responsibilities, and provided an exceptional level of support for the development and advancement of underclassmen. Voted by: The Student-Athletes of each respective team
Team Player Award- This award is given to one student-athlete on each respective team who holds the team together, from their willingness to provide support to effective communication to recognizing the contributions of others. The team player award is intended to recognize and encourage collaboration. Voted by: The Student-Athletes of each respective team
Funniest Teammate Award- This award is given to one student-athlete on each respective team who keeps it fun outside of practice and helps everyone stay in a good mood. This role should not go unnoticed as it is a crucial part to keep team morale up and spirits high. Voted by: The Student-Athletes of each respective team
Most Humble Award- This award is given to one student-athlete on each respective team who despite their accomplishments are never satisfied and are eager to grow with their teammates. Voted by: The Student-Athletes of each respective team
Most likely to Brighten your Day Award- This award is given to one student-athlete on each respective team that brings light and positivity to the team each and every day. Voted by: The Student-Athletes of each respective team
