There's a new brewery in town!
Ottawa County leaders eye bike, pedestrian travel paths
OAK HARBOR - The Ottawa County Commissioners with the Ottawa County Active Transportation Planning Committee will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. June 6 at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds, Building F3.
The public is invited to discuss the preparation of an active transportation plan that supports non-motorized modes of transportation. The plan is to provide a clear vision for the development of a safe, user-oriented bicycle and pedestrian facilities building on existing trails, recreational areas, historic and natural preservation sites and workplace destinations in the area.
54th Annual Ottawa County Fair: July 16-22
Kelleys Island Chamber of Commerce
Movies will be shown both indoors and outdoors on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, July 27-29. The outdoor screenings will be held at the Ball Field on an impressive inflatable screen and sound system. In case of inclement weather, the outdoor screenings will be moved to the Town Hall. For outdoor showings, be sure to bring what you need to be comfortable – blankets, chairs, golf carts, cars, or trucks. The Film Fest is a popular and family-friendly event with a variety of box office movies at staggered showtimes.
A public celebration on the Lake that we love is held on the 2nd Thursday of July on the Jet Express. The sightseeing cruise will depart Port Clinton at 7:30pm and cruise past the Catawba shoreline, Marblehead and the historic lighthouse…then continue on past the islands of Kelleys, Rattlesnake, Sugar, Green and the Bass Islands before enjoying the sunset on the way back into Port Clinton. We will be traveling at high speed to reach the different points of interest and then slow down to enjoy the sights!
Signature hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar with top-shelf cocktails and wine will be featured. The cost is $40 per person or $70 per couple. This truly unique cruise is sponsored by the Jet Express and benefiting the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce. Rain date is scheduled for the third Thursday in July.
