Our outdoor area is so important, a crucial part of our learning. We have reinforced the routines this week, as well as enhanced our learning form the indoor setting to outside. The activities have been carefully planned to help develop our co-ordination as well as develop our muscles. The large movements will help us with our writing and drawing as we get older.
Lots of work related to the new sounds we have learnt. We have also made a huge effort with recognising our names. It can be quite tricky to sort out the different sounds, we have built this in to our learning. We have enjoyed looking for our names in the early morning sessions, this is reinforced by the children placing the letters in the correct order following their written names.
Lots of mathematical language this week. We sequenced different events and activities, placing them in the correct order. This was done practically, and on Seesaw. The children really enjoyed following the pictures and making the jam sandwiches.
Maths and physical development in the outdoors again. We used the big yard to reinforce different places that the children could go. Under over, behind, next to and so on. We also used this opportunity to improve their muscles and core strength as well as a good hand grip again to help them draw, write, fasten buttons as a well as use a knife and fork.
