Spring Term 2a week 7

Another busy, hard working week.

The children have grown so we needed some bigger tables.

It is lovely to see children helping each other during the lessons. They enjoy putting things back in their place in the classroom and moving onto the next task independently.

The children love a bit of extra teaching to move their learning forward.

It is always great to see the children correcting their work.

In English we had a quick look at the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’. The children were inspired to write their own letters.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the letters this week. I was impressed.

In maths the children have been finding fractions of numbers. All the children know to draw a bar model to find the answers. There is always a challenge at the end of the lesson to keep the children busy and using their skills.

Today the children enjoyed moving on to a Level 3 Grammar Hammer activity. There was lots of new learning but they all love a challenge.

Some children are now in the habit of reading on seesaw at home every day. This is fantastic and is an expectation for all children at St John’s. Lots of green dojo’s and certificates given out this week.

You have all worked so hard this term I am proud of you all.

Enjoy the half term holiday. See you back in school on Monday 28 February.
