F&M Wrestling at EIWA Championships (Saturday, March 5 - Sunday, March 6)

Regular Season

  • F&M went 8-2 in dual meets for the team's most wins since the 2005-06 season
  • The Diplomats were the last remaining undefeated team in EIWA duals, suffering just one conference loss to Hofstra on the final day of the regular season
  • The .800 winning percentage as a team was the highest mark since the the 1979-80 season when John Fritz led the team to a 15-3 record (.833) during his final season as the Diplomats' head coach
  • In addition to the dual schedule, F&M saw plenty of EIWA action throughout the year as the Diplomats competed at the Clarion Open, Binghamton's Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open, the Keystone Classic, Matmen Open, and the Army Round Robin
  • 8 of F&M's 10 entrants into the EIWA Championships posted a winning record throughout the regular
  • 9 Diplomats competing this weekend won double digit matches, with midseason injuries being the only barrier that prevented the entire lineup from achieving that feat
  • 7 of F&M's starters achieved at least 25% bonus rates over the course of all their matches

  • 12th season as head coach
  • Coached eight NCAA Division I qualifiers at F&M, highlighted by 2014 All-American and two-time EIWA Champion Rick Durso '16.
  • Led team to 12th-highest GPA in Division I during F&M's last full season.
  • Was a three-time NCAA qualifier at Lock Haven, earning All-America accolades twice.
  • 1996 Gorrarian Award winner for most pints in the least amount of time at NCAA Division I Championships.

  • Qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2016 after placing sixth at the Big Ten Championships while competing for Rutgers
