3 Steps to Take When You Finish Your Fundraiser!

Congratulations! You've finished your fundraiser and whether you've met your goal, come a little short, or (best of all) exceeded it, there are still a few items left on your to-do list.

Although it may feel like you've crossed the finish line and the fundraising race is over, there still remains one of the most important parts of any fundraising campaign: the wrap-up. But, don't worry! Even though there is more to be done, these steps will make sure that you successfully complete this year's fundraiser AND it will leave you with a solid base for next year's event.

Each fundraising wrap-up will be unique to the school, but there are 3 basic steps that every Parent Group should consider. We consulted our Personal Event Coaches for their expert knowledge and what they advise our clients to do after they finish their Fun Run or other Athon Fundraiser. We've compiled that advice into 3 simple steps for you to follow.

Step #1 ~ CELEBRATE!

After you've finished your fundraiser and the donation period is complete, it's time to calculate how much you've earned & celebrate your hard work!

Make sure to share this good news with your students, staff/faculty, parents, sponsors, and everyone who made a donation. This will not only allow others to share in your fundraising success but it will also build trust in your Parent Group & gain support for next year's fundraiser!

  • Call/email local sponsors
  • Publish your success on your PTO/PTA website and on social media
  • Send out a newsletter to parents
  • Press release in the local paper
  • Email to faculty & staff
  • Student announcement

Don't forget to remind everyone where the funds will be allocated (if you're teamed up with us, we have a great pie chart graphic you can use/share!).

Step #2 ~ GRATITUDE

Fundraising success is a team effort, which is why it's important to thank those who were involved in helping you reach your fundraising goals.

Make sure to thank any local sponsors for their donations. You want to be sure they will support you next year by showing your gratitude & expressing what their support has done for the school & community.

This is also the time to deliver on any student incentives in a fun assembly or celebratory event like a pancake party, silly string party, or turning the principal into a human sundae.

Step #3 ~ REBOOK for Next Year/Season

It might seem crazy to think about next year's fundraiser, but trust us when we say this is one of the best things you can do after your current fundraiser has ended! This way you can already be promoting for next year, plan ahead with local sponsors, & if you book again with Get Movin', we offer awesome incentives (be on the lookout for our Early Bird Reward!).

If you are a current client and would like to book again for next year/season please contact your personal event coach!
