Learning Round-up
What another busy week we’ve had in Maple class this week! In Geography this week we learnt about the 7 wonders of the world and where we can find them around. In Maths we have started learning how to tell the time, in science we learnt how our digestive systems work. Everyone has worked very hard, well done Maple.
How is it already week 3? What a lovely term we have had so far - despite the cold weather! Silver Birch class continues to surprise me and make me giggle with their wonderful personalities! We have continued to grow as a class and this is shown through our caring and respectful attitude we have towards each other. It is great to see us working through issues together as a class and as a team! This has helped us to really get stuck into our work including writing our most challenging answer to a question about the current text we are reading (The Iron Man). I am blown away with the hard work we have all put in! Well done!
Pine class have settled back into the new year fabulously and are working really hard. In Geography we loved learning about trade, where different products come from, and how much the UK imports from other countries. Some of us are even looking at where the products we use every day come from, which is fantastic! In science experiment looking at how different liquids move, and in Talk for Reading we are enjoying exploring Macavity. Keep up the good work Pine.
Elder class have had another good week they are working amazingly and are working really hard. In Geography we loved learning about trade, where different products come from, and how much the UK imports from other countries, learning about positives and negatives of different European countries . Some of us are even looking at where the products we use every day come from, which is fantastic! We enjoyed the challenge of learning how to perform different stitches ! Well done Elder!
This week, Oak class have continued their brilliant work in Maths looking at percentages and fractions. In our Reading, we have been learning and use new vocabulary identified in our next text titled ‘Rooftoppers’. Oak class also thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Ufton Court which linked with their WW2 unit of work in History.
Acer have had a fantastic time at Ufton Court this week. They have analysed artefacts, learnt how to send morse code messages, completed paratrooper training and had experienced an air raid. In Talk for Writing they have planned and written a diary entry based on our current text: ‘ Safia and the Captain.’ They have considered how they would feel when they came across the Captain on the shoreline. Keep up the great work Acer.
