Energy & Water Conservation Opportunities for the Korean Eunkang Church of Ogden, Kansas By: Daniel Parker

My community partner was the Korean Eunkang Church. It is a nonprofit organization located in the rural, military-town of Ogden, Kansas. Underlying this project were UN SDGs (7,11,12,13).

With these goals in mind, this project focused on energy conservation opportunities for the Korean Eunkang Church. In addition, other conservation opportunities were identified in the areas of water and waster management. As a small military town, Ogden, Kansas, relies heavily on its community centers, including churches. Buildings are a significant contributor to global carbon emissions, and there is an increasing urgency for organizations to adopt sustainable practices to mitigate their environmental impact. Even churches, as vital community institutions, can contribute to the promotion of energy efficiency and conservation.
