IAin Escobar
This week's feature recognizes Kilboune senior wrestler Iain Escobar and follows his experience in recently achieving his 100th highschool career win. Iain describes how he was able to to reach this goal and gives insight to what this win means for him and his plans for wrestling in the future.
In our interview, we asked Iain to tell us what earning an 100th win means to a wrestler. He responded, "It's not too common. It's a good goal to have, you know. When you see that another wrestler, or friend at another school gets their 100th win, you congratulate them; it's kind of a respect thing."
When speaking on his personal experience with winnning his 100th match Iain said, "It's cool to think that over four years, it [the 100th win] doesnt seem like that much out of all the matches you get in highschool, but it's something cool and no one can ever take that from you." Ultimatly, the 100th win is a huge milestone for a wrestler and is something that Iain, and others who have achieved this goal, will remember for the rest of their lives.

Next Iain to told us a little about what his wrestling experience has been like at kilbourne. Iain elaborated, "Here at Kilbourne its been cool. I've been around the program ever since I was in fifth grade so I knew the coaches really well. My freshman year we got a new head coach, so it was a cool experince: it was his first year, it was my first year so it worked out pretty well."

To explain how he was able reach this point in his career Iain answered, "You know just by working hard and not taking too long of a break after a season." "Make it fun," he continued, "Alot of people in other sports too make it stressful on themselves... once you let that go and you just go out there and have fun and do what you do, do what you train, then it just comes."
In the future, Iain is looking to go to either the Univeristy of Indianapolis, Tiffin Univerity, or Ohio Weslayen University to continue his wrestling career. He is still undecided as of now but he plans to make a decision between the three later this year.
Iain left us with some words of advice to younger wrestlers, or people who plan to go out for the sport at some point saying, "It's a fun sport. It helps you grow and it helps you in other sports... you also get to meet a lot of new friends."
