We all fall down
In 2019 I sold my company of 12 years and discovered my first retirement. At 46 I was complete with creating, founding, building, maintaining, leading and all that comes with being a CEO to 26 employees and over 450 customers with a $2.5 million dollar valuation. A car accident several months after "retirement" left me with a traumatic brain injury, hospitalized, and unable to walk.
I dreamt of a day when I would be able to walk on the beach again. After three years of listening and observing business owners and leaders in companies stress, control and struggle I discovered a niche in the coaching and consulting arena.
What's Missing?
Recalling how isolated, alone and curious I was as a business owner, I wanted a partner who had my back, someone I could be a sounding board for and listen to the fears, hopes and challenges without always having a solution.
A resource who was willing to get their hands dirty, point and click and intervene with me without being subordinate. I didn't want to be responsible for another mouth to feed on payroll. I wanted a partner who contributed and invested in the growth of my company. Who was as invested as I was.
Who can you talk to?
As an owner, leader or founder, our spouses aren’t always willing or can’t be an objective sounding board for our accounting or marketing issues!
We can’t turn to friends with the terror in our eyes about not making payroll next week! We can’t ask our parents about increasing our business valuation or decreasing our “key man” insurance policy.
We can go through years of mistakes creating a customer service policy, an employee handbook, or a hiring and benefits program. A key performance indicator system might be our checking account balance or a new customer.
I discovered the value of listening and being a companion on the journey. I thought that the LeftFoot Coach would be that partner on the journey of your companies success.
Innovate and disrupt
LeftFoot Coaching Academy, my former business, was a remarkable experiment in the business market. I included complimentary currency (or alternative currency like Bitcoin) as early as 2010. I started the company by crowdsourcing $40,000 before crowdsourcing was even a name. I opened a 10,000 sq foot facility with faith, trust and ingenuity as the first ever soccer facility in the nation devoted to players, not teams, leagues or clubs.
LeftFoot made over $100/sq ft in revenue whereas most sports facilities average between $17-25/sq foot. Most coaching clinics and camps average $15-$20 per visit per hour, we created multiple successful, sold out programs between $35-75/hour.
We were masters of automated email marketing and landing pages before social media, in fact I was even nominated as the Small Business Icon of the Year in 2014.
However, we were always implementing several core practices from a philosophy I now call Standing Waves.
I didn't realize it, but not every business owner or leader was aware of this secret in their own business!
Waves Not Parts
The journey I discovered with Standing Waves was finding them, being at the effect of them, learning to intervene in them and then finally as I like to say, surfing them!
As I discovered with many business owners through the years, if you focus on the parts that create the wave, the wave will still be impacting you in ways that you cannot imagine. Domain Map
A Standing Wave is composed of many elements in a river. Most include the rocks, the volume of water, seasons, the banks on the river, the depth of the turns, trees, and finally slope.
Your Domain Map is a search for all of the elements in your business, not just customers, or employees, but the stages and pipelines of your systems. It could be the locations, clients, projects, services, and finances of your business.
We spend an hour and a half mapping your core elements of the business and your personal relationships that impact the company!
Clarity
Once we search and discover the domains we look for indicators in your business that align with the Five Elements of Transforming Services.
These Five Elements are key indicators of any business as it relates to operations, marketing, systems, finance and customer service. You’ll receive training and coaching on how these Five Elements are supporting your activities or are distracting your services and business from being truly transformed!
We’ll spend another hour and a half mapping out the Five Elements and intervening in these areas to track, manage, and transform your business.

Accomplishment
Once we map, clarify and structure the discovery of the Standing Wave in your business we’ll create a one quarter plan to begin intervening and amplifying the Standing Wave. We’ll create a mini-business plan to outline and accomplish the key milestones for success and we’ll often find a mini project that requires support.
Mini-Project
The LeftFoot Coach will create a mini-project with you and for you to intervene in the Standing Wave. Oftentimes there may be additional expenses, staff members or consultants that support us on the journey to riding the wave we discovered!
Some examples of Mini-Projects that I’ve created are an app to track leads and tours for a school, another was creating a podcast and blog for a company. One company completely transformed her estimates and invoicing system to bring freedom to her employees and herself. Some Mini-Projects do require outside help, expenses and resources. You also may count on The LeftFoot Coach to support the project with 9 hours of time.
Combination Journey
At this stage we begin connecting and discovering ways to amplify the Standing Wave through the Five Elements of Transforming Services. We identify each major element and create teams and indicators for success. We implement tracking systems with automation and this is where true freedom begins.
