Continuing the Digital Transformation Journey in Healthcare A digital futures event - April 24 2020

This Connected Health Ecosystem event was held virtually on Friday 24th April 2020 and focused on Greater Manchester’s digital strategy for health and care and some of the digital responses being put in place due to COVID-19 across the sector.

The event offered the opportunity for academia, industry, third sector and health and care organisations to discuss best practice and explore opportunities for deploying digital healthcare solutions in the region.

Chaired by Digital Futures Health and Care theme lead Professor Niels Peek, the event included presentations given by guest speakers from academia and the health and care industry.

Professor Ben Bridgwater of Health Innovation Manchester kicked off proceedings with a talk titled 'GM Digital Strategy and Digital Response to COVID-19'.

Professor Bridgwater was followed by a dual presentation by Dr. Marcus Ong and Gwynneth Derere of Spectra Analytics concerning the deployment of online consultation tools for Digital First Primary Care and the opportunities for Artificial Intelligence.

Following this, Scott Lauchlan-Ford of 42nd Street gave a presentation focusing on adolescent mental health after which Will Miller of Keystream Group presented their talk on digital healthcare consultancy.

After a successful and engaging series of presentations, the event was soon brought to a close by Professor Peek.
