Adobe Certification Renewal Exams Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I already scheduled a paid renewal exam. What can I do to take the On-demand renewal exam instead?

A: You can take your scheduled renewal exam on or before January 23, 2023. If you do not take it by that date, we encourage you to renew your certification via continuous learning assessments or an on-demand renewal exam. While we are unable to issue any refunds, please reach out to certif@adobe.com for any additional questions or concerns.

Q: What is the difference between renewing certifications through continuous learning assessments and by taking a renewal exam?

A: Continuous learning assessments are related to specific short training courses posted on Adobe Experience League. Watch the courses, and then log into Adobe Credential Manager and complete the assessments. Renewal exams are unproctored exams that are scheduled via the Adobe Credential Manager.

Q: Can I start an on-demand renewal exam and save progress to finish later?

A: No. Each exam needs to be completed in one sitting or your score will not be saved properly.

Q: Do you have to have an active certification to be eligible for continuous learning assessments and on-demand renewal exams?

A: Yes, continuous learning assessments and renewal exams will not credit or be accepted unless you have an active certification (not expired).

Q: How much do the on-demand renewal exams cost?

A: The on-demand renewal exams are now free of charge.

Q: Is a proctor still required for the renewal exams?

A: No. The new on-demand renewal exam offering provides more flexibility for candidates.

Q: If I have multiple credentials in the same solution, do I need to complete separate continuous learning activities to satisfy each renewal requirement?

A: No. Upon completion of the continuous learning tasks, your same-solution credentials (for example, Adobe Analytics Developer Professional and Expert) will both renew your certification.

Q: How many times can I attempt a renewal exam/assessment?

A: If you successfully take and pass all the assessments required before your certification expiration date, you can attempt as many times as needed to pass the exam/assessment.

Q: What happens if my certification expires during my renewal process?

A: Unfortunately, your certification renewal/assessments will not be credited. It is important that you complete your renewal assessments/exam before your expiration date. Failure to do so in time requires you to take the full certification exam to earn that certification.

Q: How often do I need to renew my certification?

A: You will need to renew your certification every two years.

Q: What if my certification is no longer being offered?

A: If we no longer offer your certification, you will not have the option to renew it. We encourage you to take the most recently updated exam to fulfill your certification renewal.

Q: Can I renew my Professional level certification?

A: No. There are no Professional level renewal exams available. Adobe Certification Renewals are only offered at the Certified Expert and Master level. Candidates who prefer to remain at the Certified Professional level can renew and maintain their certification by passing the most recent exam at that level. However, the Adobe Credential Program recommends that candidates with a Professional credential take the next step and pass an Expert level exam. By achieving the Expert level certification, your Certified Professional certification will automatically be renewed.
