Have you seen our latest Art installation? Last week artist Zak Newham from natural-art.uk came into school help the children create some stunning giant leaf mosaics. They made 1 leaf to represent each of the school houses, Ash, Oak, Beech and Elm and each leaf has been made from the wood of the tree.
Don't they look amazing!

World Mental Health Day
On Friday 8th October we are joining thousands of schools, offices and communities to raise awareness of mental health by taking part in Young Minds ‘Hello Yellow’. Children can come to school wearing yellow, so dig out your neon socks, custard T-shirt and banana hat - let's show young people they're not alone with their mental health!

Residential Trips
Thank you to all of the parents who have paid for the Year 5 Braeside residential trip taking place in November. Payments can be made in installments on Parent Pay.
Regular payments can also be made for the Year 4 Braeside residential taking place in February and the Year 6 residential to Mill on the Brue in June.

School Applications
Applications are now open for applying for school places for September 2022.
All year 6 children need to apply for a secondary school place. The closing date for applications is Sunday 31 October, 2021.
All children due to start Primary school will need to apply. The closing date for applications is Saturday 15 January, 2022.
Application can be made online using the Wiltshire Council Parent Portal.
Online applications are preferred, however, if you require a paper copy please call Wiltshire Council Customer Services on 01225 713010
MacMillan Coffee Morning
Last Friday Monkton Park Staff held a Macmillan Coffee Morning. Some amazing cakes were donated and eaten, raising £175.00 for the charity.

FOMPS
Coffee Morning
We are pleased to say we are now able to host our FOMPs 'Getting to know you' Coffee Morning.
We would like to invite all parents/guardians of children in Reception and Key Stage 1 to this event on Friday 8th October at 9-10am in the school hall.
This is an opportunity to meet other parents/guardians and also to find out more about what we as FOMPs are about.
We hope to see you there!

Please take a look at our volunteer sign up sheet to see if there is any of our activities you are free for to help out at. We are unable to put on these events without the valued help of our volunteers.
Committee
We were unable to fill the committee role of secretary at the AGM so please come forward if you are able to assist with this role. The role primarily requires taking minutes at our meetings and coordinating communications with members. It is very important but requires less time commitment.
Our next meetings will be held:
• Thursday 14th October 3pm at school
• Thursday 4th November 8pm via Teams

There are several ways you can easily contribute to FOMPS fundraising through your daily activities so please look out for:
• The Morrisons Good to Grow scheme: to help purchase gardening equipment
• The Tesco Community Grant scheme: for a contribution towards the bungalow renovations
Both of which are closing shortly so please get your tokens in soon!
Also whilst you are shopping online remember to shop through:

• Giving Machine: and support Monkton Park Primary School where a percentage of your shop will be automatically donated to FOMPS and our school projects.
